Register now for the 2010 New Zealand Costume and Textile Association Symposium, this year dealing to the the perilous theme of Hanging by a Thread: Tales of Disaster and Survival. Guest speakers include journalist and social commentator Rosemary McLeod, artist Andrea du Chatenier and writer/curator, Douglas Lloyd Jenkins on "A Nice Gay Jersey: Masculinity and the Knitting Pattern"!
Keynote presentations are by Dr Patricia Wallace, Associate Researcher, Macmillian Brown Centre for Pacific Studies, University of Canterburyon "Maori Weaving: ‘Hanging by a Thread?"; and Jane Wild & Hannah Barret, Textile Conservators, National Gallery of Australia on the restoration of the Ballet Russes collection.
