TheNewDowse calls for entries for the 2007 Gold Award
01/01/07
TheNewDowse is calling for entries for the fourth Gold Award for jewellery, which in 2007 has a new supporter – The Dowse Foundation.
A biennial award valued at $10,000, the Gold Award provides an unique opportunity for New Zealand jewellery makers to create a significant work in gold and to achieve national and international recognition and exposure.
The judges of the Gold Award are in search for a design that demonstrates an understanding of gold in the fullest sense of the word – of its technical properties and/or its cultural significance – in order to develop a unique collection of gold jewellery within TheNewDowse collection. The judges look forward to your entry.
Entries close on Friday 18 May 2007 at 5pm. The winner will be announced at a function at TheNewDowse on the evening of Saturday 16 June 2006. The function will also mark the final weekend of Alan Preston – Made in Aotearoa, a survey exhibition of one of New Zealand’s leading contemporary jewellers.
