TheNewDowse Supports the National Jewellery Showcase
The New Dowse is a proud supporter of The National Jewellery Showcase (June 15th – 17th), an extensive presentation of work from emerging, contemporary and traditional New Zealand designers at the Michael Fowler Centre.
At this year’s showcase TheNewDowse will be supporting the expo with a display of innovative, thought-provoking, conceptually-driven jewellery.
The exhibition entitled Brand Spanking New, has been curated by Karl Chitham. It will feature the work of 16 of New Zealand’s leading contemporary jewellers, including Joanna Campbell, the winner of TheNewDowse’s prestigious Gold Award in 2002.
“BrandSpankingNew is an exhibition which has been created to offer this die-hard existing audience something new to ponder while also expanding the perceptions of a brand new generation of consumers who have grown up with hip hop bling and retro chic,” says curator Karl Chitham.
TheNewDowse is also involved in judging National Jewellery Award for Contemporary Jewellery. The winner will be announced at the Gala Preview on the evening of Thursday June 14. Award entries will be displayed in the Awards Galleries and will be for sale.
