TheNewDowse and its Partners Win Big at The BeST Awards
TheNewDowse’s innovative approach to its branding and fit-out was recognised in the recent BeST Design awards, which saw the recently-refurbished art museum scoop three silver awards.
The innovative art museum won two silver awards for its quirky hot pink branding and another for its external signage, which were both created by TheNewDowse’s partner Designworks.
Creative Director & Partner of Designworks Sven Baker says that winning such a prestigious award recognises the commitment of the creative design team to raise the bar and deliver award-winning, internationally-recognised work.
“The branding was a contemporary treatment of what was already there, we just helped to make it more visible and more challenging. By turning the spark into a word, it encouraged people to tap into their creativity and imagine what that word could possibly mean,” says Creative Director & Partner of Designworks Sven Baker.
The gallery, which has seen more than 200,000 visitors pass through its doors since its grand re-opening in February this year, was also honoured for its innovative furniture commissioned for the Blumhardt Gallery.
The Silver Award for Wellington-based company Kebbell Daish’s recognised theirbreakthrough modular approach to the exhibition display.
Designed by industrial designers, Robbie Greig and Bernd Benninghoff, and fabricated by Lower Hutt’s Fraser Engineering, the furniture perfectly compliments the Blumhardt pottery collection.
“The successes at the BeST award recognise the fact that we’re seen as leadingourfield in terms of creativity and innovation. Part of the secret is our ability to develop partnerships with the best in their fields. One thing reinforces the other; in the end itsthe strength of our brand that allows us to do this,” says TheNewDowse Director Tim Walker.
One of TheNewDowse’s other partners, Lower Hutt’s Formway, won a Gold Award for its Met Adapt table range.
