Describe your studio in three words:
eclectic; chaotic; encompassing

Who is your creative hero?
I don't have any heros, but there are many creative people who's work I am interested in. eg: Damian Hirst; Alexander McQueen; John Galliano; Marilyn Manson; H.R Giger.....

What's on your stereo when you work?
I am currently living in Berlin, but when I was in New Zealand I often listened to National Radio which was fantastic! From my own music collection I hear a mix of music types eg: The Cure; 50's/60's Rock & Roll; Joy Division; Forseti; The Quakes; 'soft' Metal; Neo Folk; She wants revenge; Rockabilly/Physcobilly; various 80's bands; Einstürzende Neubauten....

What's the first piece of Jewellery you remember having as a child?
Funnily enough the jewellery piece of mine which brings back the fondest memories as a child is a cheap cast metal skeleton, which I loved. Over the years the bottom half of the skeleton (pelvis and below) broke off and were lost, but I still wore and cherished it. That probably explains some of my interests I pursue today?

Are you wearing any Jewellery while you write this?
Yes, earrings of course, and a ring.

What do you do to overcome a creative block?
a) Nature – Take a long walk somewhere, preferably up a hill looking over the city or countryside.
b) Library

What is your favourite foreign word?
'ach so' ; 'stimmt' ; Kakerlake

How has living in Germany inspired and changed your work?
I find everything in life in some way inspiring. From music to museums; art galleries; movies; nature; travel; architecture etc. After completing the German Master's Certificate in Goldsmithing in 2006 I have a stronger technical understanding of Goldsmithing which allows my designs to be more exploratory. Knowledge brings wider possibilities.

What do you have at your bedside table?
Usually piles of books which I am meant to be reading, but are more often flicked through for their visuals, then read at random; candle; sketch book and pen.
