The Dowse Foundation Gold Award


A bi-annual award offered to contemporary jewellers

As part of the award, the recipient receives –

• A $10,000 grant towards the creation of a work made in gold
• An opportunity to exhibit at TheNewDowse

The 2005 recipient, Kirsten Haydon constructed a necklace made from meccano-like unit and connectors, titled Net-Works. Playing on the recyclable natures of gold, it can be disassembled and reassembled, and comes complete with a hand wrench.

The judges of the Gold Award are in search for a design that demonstrates an understanding of gold in the fullest sense – technical and cultural.

The 2007 recipient will be selected on the basis of a proposal.
