Children learn about locally-made jewellery

School Programmes

Throughout the year, TheNewDowse runs creative, hands-on school programmes for students Year 0-13.

The programmes, which link to different aspects of the school curriculum, encourage students to think creatively about a variety of subjects from technology to social studies.

Whether it be a study of eco-friendly design or an examination of locally-made jewellery, the programmes allow the children to explore creativity in its broadest sense.

Below are some of the programmes that will be offered throughout 2008. Programmes are free with optional workshops and special programmes at a small charge per person.

• The 16th Wallace Art Awards
• Beasts: Beast related artifacts from TheNewDowse collection
• A Costura do Invisivel: Haute couture paper dresses
• Shapeshifter: Sculpture in the Civic Gardens
