Hemi Macgregor: Urge, Purge, Pure, 2003

What connects computer keyboards, hei tiki, hoodies and garden trowels? This is your chance to find out, as artists Hemi Macgregor and Dr Robert Jahnke talk about their work in the Plastic Maori exhibition. This is your chance to find out what makes these artists tick, and to discover more about the themes and materials they use.

Areta Wilkinson

$10K Gold Award Winner Announced

Canterbury-based jeweller Areta Wilkinson has won TheNewDowse Gold Award, supported by the Dowse Foundation. Focusing on the alluring combination of golden dripping honeydew and dark fungi-filled bark, her design for Black Beech and Honeydew will be produced and displayed alongside previous winners' work in a show later in the year.

Felix Kelly: A Kiwi at Brideshead
Opens Sat 13 June

Like hordes of Kiwis before and after him, Felix Kelly left for an OE to the UK - and never came back. Kelly made a name for himself as a society portrait painter and designer in 1930s London and this show features his work in a wide variety of media. Toured by Hawkes Bay Museum & Art Gallery, Napier and curated by Don Bassett.
