These annual awards offer international residencies at prestigious studios in Europe and the USA. As the only venue outside Auckland, TheNewDowse displays a selection of works from the winners and finalists. You can also cast your own vote in the People's Choice Award.

Roy G and the BIVinatorsLATE LOUNGE
Thurs 5 November 5-9pm

Roy G & The Bivinators provide the soothing folk/ska soundtrack to our monthly late night experience. Come early for a free gallery tour at 5.30 or 6.30pm, and treat yourself to dinner at Cafe Reka or grab a drink from our bar. All facilities (galleries, Lounge, Shopette, Cafe) open till 9pm.

Auckland children with their Muka PrintsMuka Youth Prints
26-27 November

A special opportunity for children to enjoy and buy art on their own. Well-known NZ and overseas artists have produced sets of original lithographs to be sold exclusively to 5-18 year olds - no adults are allowed into the show! All artworks are $60, with artist signatures blocked out so kids make their decisions based on instinct, not brand.

Experience the immersive worlds of China's Venice-Biennale-featured artist Cao Fei. Large scale photographic and video works offer visitors a rich and intriguing look at the artist's response to changing online and offline worlds. Explore fantastical alternate realities and role-playing games in this futuristic, edgy show.
