Claire Regnault Lands UK Scholarship

TheNewDowse and Petone Settlers Museum Concept Development Manager, Claire Regnault has been named the 2007 Clark Collection/Creative New Zealand Scholar.

In June, Regnault will attend The Attingham Trust Summer School which focuses on the conservation and interpretation country houses and their collections; and undertake a series of internships with The Royal Collection, Victoria & Albert Museum, English Heritage and National Trust.

She says the trip will enable her to “research a range of models that will prove invaluable in the on-going development of the Petone Settlers Museum and TheNewDowse.”

She is also aiming to visit a number of other institutions relevant to TheNewDowse and Petone Settlers Museum such as the Design Museum in London and the Brighton Museum.

The latter she says is well-regarded as a museum that reflects both the historical background and modern day face of this seaside town.

The trip will also enable her to further develop a number of UK partnerships.
