Forget the doom and gloom of credit crunches and financial collapse – having the skills and resources to make things yourself has never been as necessary as right now. Unsustainable consumption is so over - join the handmade revolution & take back the tools of production.
Craft2.0 Easter Edition bounces into TheNewDowse on Saturday 11 April from 10am till 3pm. Celebrating its 3rd birthday, Craft2.0 throws off the babygrow to explore new territory, just like any other cute and adventurous toddler.
Craft2.0 is not just another craft fair, it’s also an all-day crafting party. Thanks to Hutt Valley Community Arts you can unleash your inner crafter with an entire dedicated space set aside for freestyle making. Share your ideas and learn from others in a laidback and relaxed environment.
Craft2.0 features more than 50 of the most unique and talented crafters from the Wellington region, and a few who've travelled across the country to bring you the very best in handmade wares. Craft2.0 showcases all the best in contemporary craft from first-time sellers, as well as established independent crafters who've become favourites from previous fairs. You can check out the latest talent from the kiwi craft community, while you discover the stories and inspiration behind their quirky creations.
Turn up at 10am and you might be one of the lucky 100 people to win a free gift bag. Inside are tasty treats from Cafe Reka, a styley unicorn from SuperVery, and other delights. But don't worry if you miss out on a gift bag - until 2pm you can enter our prize draw to win loads of beautiful things from the Craft2.0 Crafters, TheNewDowse, World Sweet World and Felt.
Get your shopping shoes ready and come along for a stress-free day of local craft and fun activities. All stalls accept cash, or CraftCash is available on the day. Remember to check out TheNewDowse exhibitions while you’re here, and stimulate your own creative impulses. See www.craft2.org for crafter profiles and blog updates.
