Created in 2003 by a couple Tokyo-based architects, the worldwide phenomena that is Pecha Kucha has landed at TheNewDowse.
Japanese for chit chat, this light-speed presentation format for sharing creative ideas has spread virally throughout the world to over 120 cities from Seattle to Shanghai. At Pecha Kucha, artists, architects, designers, writers & all round creative bods have the chance to share their latest creative projects in a mere 6minutes 40 (20 slides/20 second as per slide).
Voted the Best Inspirational Event in the Metro 2007 Best of Auckland awards, Pecha Kucha is slowly gaining a groundswell of attention despite the fact that it only landed on New Zealand’s shores in 2007. Straddling a variety of creative disciplines, TheNewDowse lends itself perfectly to the eclectic mix of presenters with topics including art, theatre, design, architecture and even science.
