Put Your Mahi Where Your Mouth Is – working bee with Common Unity Project Aotearoa

Get your hands in the soil and spend your morning getting to know the folk behind a community driven project brewing a revolution in Te Awa Kairangi, Lower Hutt. Join Common Unity Founder, Julia Milne, and artists Xin Cheng & Adam Ben-Dror for a working bee to transform the lawn in front Common Unity’s hub, The Remakery, into a place for community to gather.

Then sit down to a plant-based lunch prepared by Unity Kitchen and hear from Xin and Adam about Making Like A Forest, their collaboration with Common Unity for the exhibition From the Ground Up: Community, Cultivation and Commensality at The Dowse Art Museum.

This programme marks the opening of From the Ground Up: Community, Cultivation and Commensality, a new exhibition bringing together six different approaches and perspectives to food cultivation and its consumption.
