Yuka Oyama Needs You!
Ever had more than one home? Lived out of your backpack or suitcase? Started a new home abroad?
If you were born in another country, but live in Wellington and are 18 years or over, Yuka Oyama, Japanese/German, Berlin-based artist, wants to hear from you.
Yuka Oyama is the new international artist in residence at Te Whare Hēra, Massey University. She is looking for volunteers to help her create her latest work, Helpers – Changing Homes. Her work will explore the things we carry that help us create a sense of home through a series of interviews, object making and a live, recorded performance.
To create this work Yuka needs volunteers who can spare approx. 12 hours between November 2017 and January 2018.
All resources and training will be provided by Yuka and Te Whare Hēra, Massey University, Wellington.
Yuka Oyama's residency is supported by The Dowse Art Museum and Asia New Zealand Foundation.
